The GoGenerosity pay-it-forward widget can be added to your Shopify storefront as a page or blog post for both modern Shopify 2.0 or Vintage themes.
Real World examples:
Setup instructions for Shopify 2.0 Theme:
1. Create a new Page Template for the store:
a. Edit Store Theme (Online Store → Theme → Customise).
b. From the content drop down at the top of the theme select Pages (or Blogs, or Blog Posts depending on which template you want to create) and then the option to 'Create template'.
2. Give a name to the template. E.g. impact-page.
3. In the visual editor select the option to Add Section → Apps → Prompt (Full cart):
4. Click on the ‘Prompt (Full cart)’ menu item and then choose the option to select ‘Auto-expand How it works’. Save and publish:
5. Pages can now be created with our widget by selecting this template (see below).
NOTE: button colours are customisable and logo can be updated with your charities logo. The widget will display the “How it works” section until your charity partner has received their first distribution. At this point the “How it works” section will automatically turn into “Impact stats”.
Creating Pages or Blogs with our Widget after the template(s) has been created:
Creating content is as simple as creating a new Page or Blog post and then selecting the template that was created in the above steps. Our widget will then be included in the page automatically and in an expanded view.
Setup instructions for Vintage Themes:
1. Create a new Page Template for the store.
a. Edit Store Theme (Online Store → Theme → Customise).
b. From the content drop down at the top of the theme select either Page, Blogs, or Blog Posts and then the option to create template.
2. Give a name to the template. E.g. Impact Page, Impact Blog, Impact Blog Post.
3. In the Visual editor select the option to Add section → Sections → Custom Liquid:
4. Inject our standard wrapper code blocks/cart-full.liquid into the available text box.
5. Change the configuration option from false to true for: ‘pif_auto_expand: true’.
6. Pages can now be created with our widget.
PLEASE NOTE: this feature is only currently available for customers with full cart where our multi pay-it-forward widget is displayed (not available for customers with side cart only).
